These Official Rules govern the Mystery Box promotional sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) operated by Steven Hoorfar and Benjamin Gabayan, doing business as Mystery Box (collectively, “Mystery Box,” “we,” “us,” or the “Sponsor”). By entering, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes.
The Sponsor of this Sweepstakes is Mystery Box, 439 S Peck Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90212. Questions regarding the Sweepstakes may be directed to certifiedmysterybox@gmail.com.
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning. Entry is free through every available method. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater) at the time of entry. Employees of the Sponsor and their immediate family members and households are not eligible. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Each Mystery Box is located at a participating retail location. There are two free methods of entry, and both have an equal chance of winning:
(a) Standard Entry. Tap or scan the Mystery Box at a participating location and complete the on-screen entry form. By entering through the standard form, you agree to receive promotional and marketing communications from Mystery Box as described at the point of entry and in our Privacy Policy. Consent to marketing communications is not required to enter or win.
(b) Alternate Method of Entry (AMOE). You may enter for free, without opting into any marketing communications, by visiting itsmysterybox.com/amoe and following the on-screen instructions. AMOE entries are entered into the same drawing for the same participating location, with the same odds of winning as a standard entry. The AMOE requires a valid email address for verification only and does not enroll you in marketing.
(c) Equal Dignity. Standard entries and AMOE entries are treated identically for the purpose of determining winners. The only difference between the two methods is that standard entry includes opting into marketing communications and AMOE does not.
Limit: one (1) entry per person per participating location per drawing cycle, unless otherwise stated at the point of entry. Entries that are incomplete, fraudulent, or that do not comply with these Rules are void.
Each participating Mystery Box awards a prize on a predetermined entry within a defined range (for example, a randomly selected entry within a set interval of total entries). The winning entry is determined automatically by the Sweepstakes system. Because the winning position is selected at random within the range and is not disclosed, every eligible entry has a chance of being the winning entry. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received at that location during the drawing cycle. After a prize is awarded at a location, that Box pauses until it is restocked and reset by staff, after which a new drawing cycle begins.
Prizes consist of merchandise made available at the participating retail location and vary by location and drawing cycle. The nature and approximate retail value of the available prize are as described at the point of entry. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, express or implied, beyond any warranty provided by the manufacturer. No cash equivalent or substitution of a prize is permitted, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, or where required by law. A winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes on a prize.
A winning entrant is notified on-screen at the time of entry and, where contact information is provided, may also be notified by email or text message. To claim a prize, the winner must follow the on-screen and on-site instructions, which may include retrieving the prize from the Mystery Box at the participating location at the time of the winning entry. The Sponsor is not responsible for a winner’s failure to claim a prize.
If you opt in to communications, message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, and opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email. For help, reply HELP to any text message or contact certifiedmysterybox@gmail.com. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
Except where prohibited, participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes a winner’s consent to the Sponsor’s use of the winner’s name and likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation, where permitted by law.
By entering, you release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its operators, partners, and participating retail locations from any claims, losses, or damages arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize, to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, or misdirected entries, technical failures, or any error in the administration of the Sweepstakes.
These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Sweepstakes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Sweepstakes at any time if it becomes technically corrupted or otherwise compromised, or as required by law. If any provision of these Rules is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
